April 12, 2011 Update

Dan received a call from the gentleman from Mayor Bing’s office this morning expressing a need to cancel this meeting for today. His car was broken into last night and several things were taken. As a staff we stopped and prayed for him and his family and are asking you all to do the same. Please continue to pray that this meeting can happen, but we’re content to wait on God’s timing. Thank you for your prayers!
That is great news….(really) It is just fun to watch God’s plan play out. Keep the FAITH.
Let this unfortunate event serve as an encouragement to you. Satan is trying to hinder your efforts, because he sees that your efforts are to the detriment of his kingdom on this earth. Therefore, be all the more encouraged that the work you are doing is for God, knowing that your labor is never in vain: “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Cor. 15:58). Within context, this “therefore” is based on the victory that Christ gives over death. Because your work is for the Lord, and because your work is against the power of eternal death as you seek the power of the Spirit of life in Detroit, so you know that this promise is being applied to you; your labor in the Lord for Detroit is not in vain.
