    Renovation Updates

    Updated: March 14, 2012

Phase 2 is well underway.  The exterior windows and slider doors were installed yesterday and they look great!  The oak trim is being put in and the administrative work stations are being completely renovated.  Within a week, all of the staining and painting will begin and then the carpet will be installed.  Our goal is to be complete with Phase 2 by the first of April and the counselors able to set up their offices the week of April 9.  This has been an eventful four-month construction process, but we are very grateful for the patience our clients have shown!  The lobby area is dusty and the noise level is sometimes distractive, but we are almost done and it will all be worth it!

If you would like to see the new suite as we wrap up construction or would like to contribute financially, please contact Jeff Nienhuis – 886-9071.

Plan now to attend one of our Open Houses scheduled for April 20-21.  Keep checking this website for new updates and photos.

We are within a week of moving into Phase 1 of the new Family Wellness Center!  Soon our counselors will move from their temporary offices in Phase 2 over to the newly renovated Phase 1, which includes five new counseling offices, a new Child Therapy Room, a new Adolescent Therapy Room, a new staff kitchen, and two new restrooms.  The trim is beautiful and everything looks and smells fresh with new paint, stain, and flooring.  Overall, about 75% of the construction and renovation has taken place and we do not anticipate Phase 2 to take more than a few weeks.  Our waiting room area has newly stained woodwork and freshly painted walls.  The new carpet will be installed with the new carpet of Phase 2.  All of our new furniture has arrived which we will begin to bring in as completion of this project continues.   Everyone has been working really hard.  This is an exciting time for all of us.

If you would like to see the progress first hand, please contact Jeff Nienhuis, 886-9071 and he would love to show you around.

Construction is really moving along on Phase 1.  The walls are completely dry-walled and primed.  The trim is up and will be painted and stained the week of January 23.  Our trees are built and will be painted and “barked” this weekend and the booth is in the Adolescent Therapy Room.  Things are really shaping up and we are so excited at the progress happening right before our eyes!   Check out flickr to see for yourself. We are on schedule for a completion date ofPhase 1 by February 16 with renovation on Phase 2 to begin immediately following.

    Updated: Dec. 16, 2011

Demolition is underway on Phase 1 of our new Family Wellness Center.  Our building permit was posted on Wednesday and walls began coming down Thursday.  Check out photos of the demolition process on flicker.  If everything goes as scheduled, new walls and electrical will go in the week of December 19.  A new drain will also be installed for our new kitchen, a second bathroom, and a sink for our Child Therapy Room.  The last of the wallpaper and carpet will also be removed.  Meetings are taking place weekly to determine design elements like carpet, trim color and furnishings.
We have secured $62,000 of our $144,000 budget.  If you would like to be a part of the new Family Wellness Center upgrades, either as a financial partner or as a volunteer, please contact Jeff Nienhuis. Jeff is taking people thru the new suite daily to see the demolition process and will gladly schedule a time to show you too.
Thank you for your continued interest in the new Family Wellness Center.  We look forward to completing both Phase 1 and 2 by March 1, 2012.

The prints are being finished by the architect today and we hope to have them for the Building Inspector tomorrow, December 1.  Once approved, we hope to begin demolition next week.  The Winning At Home team is so excited to get started on this new suite!  It will include a Group Therapy room, an Adolescent Therapy room, a Child Therapy room, two restrooms, a kitchen, and a total of 12 offices.  4,500 sq. ft. is a lot of room for our Counselors and we are very, very, blessed!

The professionals at Baumann Building will oversee the Construction, Hoekstra Electric will be heading up the electrical upgrades, and CL Plumbing will complete work in the two restrooms, the kitchen, and the Child Therapy room.

If you would like to be a part of the new Family Wellness Center, either as a financial partner or as a volunteer, please contact Jeff Nienhuis.

We will keep this page updated with construction photos and a timeline.
