Zeeland-based non-profit Kids Hope USATwo Zeeland-based nonprofit organizations, Winning At Home and KIDS HOPE USA, signed a partnership agreement that will impact children throughout West Michigan and across the country. Starting January 1, Winning At Home’s team of child psychologists and counselors will support KIDS HOPE USA’s nearly 14,000 mentors who meet with children. The organizations’ combined effort will focus on their unique strengths; Winning At Home’s expertise in helping children who face difficulties and KIDS HOPE USA’s expanding network of adult volunteers who form one-to-one relationships with at-risk kids.

“When our mentors have questions about how to best handle a unique or challenging situation,” said David Staal, President of KIDS HOPE USA, “they’ll now have access to the wisdom and experience of Winning At Home. At any time, they can call or send a message and receive an answer from a licensed professional.”

Although both organizations sit within a few hundred yards of one another in Zeeland, this joint effort will extend throughout KIDS HOPE USA’s growing national presence of 825 church-school partnerships that mentor children in 33 states. From day one, both nonprofits will benefit; Winning At Home will broaden the reach of their child-centered services and KIDS HOPE USA will gain greater capacity to support programs from coast to coast.

“We are thrilled about our new partnership with KIDS HOPE USA and look forward to not only help locally with kids and families,” says Dan Seaborn, founder and CEO of Winning At Home, “but also to expand our influence on kids nationwide to help families win at home.”

“Fueled from confidence that Dan and his team are providing support for our mentors, we’ll continue to expand and reach even more children,” Staal said. “Bringing our organizations together allows us to grow in a highly efficient manner; we both continue to do what we do best, only now we work together instead of alone.”

Winning At Home is a national nonprofit organization that reaches people through counseling services, radio programming, conference speaking, books, and other multi-media resources–all designed to offer hope and renewal to individual lives.

KIDS HOPE USA reaches children nationally through a program that forms partnerships between churches and elementary schools and equips the churches to provide trained, screened, and committed volunteer mentors to meet weekly for an hour, one-to-one, with at-risk children.
