Dr. Emilie DeYoung
Emilie DeYoung currently serves as the supervisor for child and adolescent counseling at the Family Wellness Center in Zeeland and was recently named the director of our new Holland location, which will open sometime next year when the building is completed.
She holds a PhD in psychology with an emphasis on child and adolescent counseling and a master’s degree in social work. She has been working with children and families since 1996. Specific areas of expertise include childhood anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, childhood temperament and trauma recovery.
In addition, Emilie enjoys cross-cultural opportunities. She has the privilege of counseling missionary families worldwide and has been partnering with the Jubilee Centre in Zambia to train counselors and develop a counseling center.
In a casual and relational style, Dr. DeYoung strives to help kids and teens understand their precious worth. With contemporary interventions, she helps families remove the barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Emilie and her husband live in Michigan and are parenting two spirited young adults.
