Sara aims to provide a warm, safe, welcoming, respectful, authentic and nonjudgmental space to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. Her counseling approach is flexible and adaptable to each person and their specific needs because each person’s story is unique. After getting to know you, Sara will help you and/or your relationships reach their full potential by utilizing the best approach for your situation.

Sara believes a major part of her role is to provide support and encouragement as you walk together into all the parts of your story, including the painful parts, so you can find healing and restoration. She will work alongside you to help you find hope and encouragement so you can improve and grow.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Psychology from Calvin University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on marriage and family counseling from Cornerstone University.

Sara has been married to her husband for 20 years, and they are currently parenting three teenagers. Sara believes that taking time for self-care and setting/maintaining healthy boundaries are important, and she tries to make it a priority in her own life. Outside of counseling, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching movies, going to the beach, baking, hiking in the woods and finding time to relax and unwind.
